Recommendations for authors

Content of the article

The article should contain the original material which wasn’t published anywhere fully or partly. The manuscript should meet the following criteria: scientific novelty, practical importance, profile orientation, originality of the content. The text of the article should meet the following sections: introduction, test objective, material and methods, results, discussion, conclusion or summary.

Introduction. State of the art is briefly exposed to light with references to major publications, the demand of study is stated.

Objective of the article. It contains 2-3 sentences, clearly and distinctly setting the objective and scientific mission of the study or testable hypothesis.

Materials and methods. It includes detailed descriptions of research procedures, equipment, selection criteria of animals and patients, amount and characteristics of patients with their arrangement for gender and age (when requested for the study). The principle of patients’ distribution for groups is always specified. All the drug products, chemical substances, doses, modes of administrations, used in the course of work, should be listed. At the end of section “Materials and methods” techniques of data processing used by the author are specified.

Results. They should be presented in logical order in text, tables and figures. In text the data of tables and figures should not be duplicated, they should only be compared. Percent must be presented in the text of the article or in the table together with absolute numbers. Desired precision of presented percent values depends on sample size:
• it is not customary to describe in percentage terms so called small samples (less than 20 subjects of research). In this case only absolute values are specified.

Discussion. New and important aspects of the results of the performed research should be outlined, possible mechanisms or interpretations of these data should be analyzed and compared with the data of the other researchers. Information, already presented in section “Introduction”, and detailed data from section “Results” should not be duplicated. Sound recommendations for clinical practice and possible use of the obtained results in future studies may be included into the discussion.

Summary (conclusions). It should be stated as the answer to the objective and in compliance with the article title.

The bibliographic article list should contain not less than 25 references and be constructed in alphabetical order of the surnames of authors with the initials, observing chronology at first of native, then foreign authors — according to the rules of the bibliographical description. The author is responsible for the accuracy of information in the list of reference.

Numbers of quotations and references in the text of article should be specified in brackets. They should correspond to the numbers in the article list of reference.

Abbreviations of the names of foreign journals should correspond to the abbreviations accepted in Index Medicus.

If the article has got up to four authors, they are all specified. If there are more than four authors, the first three are specified, and then «etc.» is presented.

When several articles of one author are specified, it’s necessary to build them in alphabetic order of the co-authors or the titles.

When drawing up of the list of the reference it is necessary to take into account, that the verbal messages, unpublished materials, references to web-sites, other than electronic publications (which have not got state authorization), cannot be mentioned in it.

References to the patents, useful models, etc. are not included into the list of reference, they are designed as footnotes at the end of text page.
